According to car experts, there are two kinds of sports cars – one that is designed for the road and then taken to the track like the Ferrari F430 and the other, which is designed for the track and can be used for the road like the Gumpert Apollo. The stylish supercar is a variant from the German car maker Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur after the very successful Apollo Speed and Apollo Sport sports car.

The 2010 Gumpert Apollo will be launched at the 79th Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. To be available in right hand drive for the first time, the Gumpert is touted to come up with impressive power and performance figures given the fact that the most recent variation of the Apollo Speed already delivers 800-hp with a torque of 664 lb-ft with a pick-up speed from 0-62 mph in less than 3 secs hitting a maximum of 224 mph. The car comes powered with a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8 engine from Audi, that is matched with a sequential 6-speed gearbox.

With a classy and aggressive look, the carbon face lifted Gumpert with incomparable optimized airflow conditions will be available in either leather or Alcantara with a new black and white color scheme besides being fitted with a new carbon-fiber aerodynamics package, air conditioning and a DVD player.

A US debut is likely possible soon thanks to the presence of Evolution MotorSports, a US distributor. The Gumpert will be one of the toughest street cars available. Weighing about 2645 lbs, this supercar will be priced around 300,000 Euros.
