2014 Chevrolet Impala Unveiled at the New York Auto Show

Chevrolet unveiled its all-new 2014 Chevy Impala sedan which completed the transformation of the company’s passenger car lineup. The new sedan made its debut on the eve of the 2012 New York Auto Show press days and the vehicle is totally redesigned and revamped for the 2014 model year. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala is powered by a 2.4 liter Ecotec engine that works exclusively with eAssist. The Ecotec engine generates 182-hp with a maximum torque of 172 lb-ft. Combined with a 6-speed automatic, the 2.4 liter powered Impala is expected to attain fuel efficiency numbers of around 35 mpg highway.

According to General Motors, the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala shows up as the next evolution of Chevrolet’s design theme. The 2014 Impala comes with a sleek new design, along with carved body sides. Besides, it features standard 18-inch wheels and HID headlamps, along with LED daytime running lamps standard on LTZ models. Moving to the interior, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala comes with a flowing design, along with a combined center stack holding an 8-inch touch screen display with Chevrolet MyLink with OnStar.

Safety wise, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala tops the range as it provides us with an array of new features including full-speed-range adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear camera and rear-park assist. Consumers can also choose a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder Ecotec which generates 195-hp and 187 lb-ft of torque or a 3.6 liter V6 producing 306-hp and 264 lb-ft of torque.

 “The 2014 Impala re-establishes this iconic Chevrolet nameplate as a design leader, with bold styling that will turn heads for years to come. The team has also delivered the comfort, safety, fuel efficiency and technology that will strengthen Impala’s leadership in the highly competitive full-size sedan market,” said Mark Reuss, president, GM North America. The pricing for the 2014 Chevrolet Impala will be announced soon, and the vehicle will be offered in LS, LT and LTZ trim-levels.
