Fiat Reveals Details Of 500L Ahead Of Geneva

Fiat has revealed additional details on the new upcoming 500L compact crossover, which is planned for unveiling at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March. The most surprising information of the lot is that the crossover will be available in more than 30 exterior color choices and fragrance diffusers. In addition to that, the TwinAir technology will be accompanied by an eco-Drive application too.

The company has informed that the 500L will have a couple of engine choices as well which include the new 0.9 TwinAir, the 1.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and the 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel unit. Apart from these engines, the crossover will also have an eco-Drive version which aims at cutting down fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The performance figures are yet to be known.

The Fiat 500L will arrive in European markets later this year, while the US can expect the car only be early 2013. The crossover, which is set to be a replacement for the Punto and the Palio, will be built on Fiat’s Small US Wide (SUSW) platform.
