Images of SEAT Mii FR Released; Will be Unveiled at Worthersee Tuning Event

Ahead of its official unveiling at the Worthersee Tuning Event in Austria, SEAT has revealed the images and details of its sporty new FR version. An FR-badged version, the SEAT Mii FR is a city car which is mechanically similar to the standard Mii. Even if it is identical to the standard model, extra features will be included in the new model and the automaker plans to add an array of styling tweaks inside and outside the vehicle. This concept car could pave the way for a production car. The vehicle completed its production in Tornado red with black trim on the wheel arches, boot and side sills. The car also features red accents on the 16-inch wheels. Inside the red and black theme continues with sports seats and a prominant FR logo on the dash.

Ulf Eberhardt — the producting marketing boss said that the Mii is a VW group product and hence it does not have 100 per cent SEAT DNA. This is one way of giving it that DNA.

“We will do FR, but not Cupra. It will be sporty, not all-out powerful. We have the technology and the power at our disposal within the group to do more – but that would mean adding a 3,000 Euro package on to a 10,000 Euro car,” he added. Eberhardt is very well interested in the new model — Mii and also wants to make new versions, with one a year planned. The first is scheduled for mid-2013. He is also very clear about the rest of the vehicle line-up.

“SEATs look good, but they need to look more like each other. If they all look different, you get lost in the market, which is a problem for a smaller brand like ours,” he added.
