After presenting the world with the first series of Veyron 16.4′s, Bugatti recently came out with a new edition of their super car called the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport to beguile you with its incredible record top-speed of 267.855 mph! Yes, the speed recorded breaks all the existing land speed records for production cars and thus reset the top land-speed entry at the Guinness Book of World Records.
Unveiled at the Quail Lodge Golf Course, spectators were flabbergasted on seeing the super car enter the Quail after roughly 20 vintage Bugatti models. Why shouldn’t they? After all, they had spent $400 per person to purchase admission tickets to witness one of the most unique vehicles on earth. Surprisingly, the limited entry-tickets were sold within just days of going on sale.
Even though the car has recorded a top speed of 267.855 mph, it will be limited to 258 in its normal trim. A heart-pounding 1200 horsepower and 1106 pound-feet of torque support the record-breaking top speed of the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. Bugatti has claimed the car will bear a lateral acceleration of 1.4g. Other notable specs of the car include carbon fiber construction for reduced weight, aerodynamic carbon body panels, double diffuser exhaust system, and new front air intakes, etc.
Bugatti is set to offer the first five models of the Super Sport as the World Record Edition variant, and these five will resemble the record-setting car in all respects including the same black and orange racing hues.
As of now, Bugatti has attached a price tag of 1.95 million Euros ($2.48 million) excluding taxes with their new super car. 20 cars have already been ordered so far.
