Official Images of the facelifted 2013 Lexus RX 450h F Sport have leaked online ahead of the luxury soft-roader’s debut at this week’s Geneva motor show. The model update gets the company’s latest spindle grille design. Lexus only recently unveiled a teaser image of the update; however, these official images have blemished the SUV before its 2012 Geneva Motor Show debut, set for March 6. For the first time in the company’s history, an F Sport pack will be available on both the RX 350 and RX 450h.

The new Lexus RX’s highlights include the latest ‘spindle’ grille design – also featured on the 2012 Lexus GS and the Lexus LF-LC concept – and new LED lights under the headlights. The interior of the car is expected to receive minor revisions as well. The 2012 Lexus RX will most probably launch in Australia around the middle of this year and the Lexus Australia will continue to offer the RX350 and RX450 variants. The new model is all set to embrace sportier exterior styling and interior appointments, and a number of chassis and suspension tweaks. A mesh grille and a revised front bumper bar are other main features of the new sedan.  It also benefits from new alloy wheels and taillights along with an upgraded interior with a new steering wheel, sill plates and refreshed trim inserts and materials.

Powertrains of the 2013 Lexus RX range are expected to carry over from the current models including the 3.5-litre 204kW V6 in the RX 350, and the RX 450h hybrid version using the same V6 producing a combined output of 220kW. Prices should also remain at similar levels, given the relatively mild nature of the upgrade. Further details regarding the 2012 Lexus RX will be revealed at Geneva, with full Australian specifications and prices to be confirmed closer to the car’s local midyear launch.
