Porsche 911 GT3 R will make its world debut at the Autosport International Racing show in Birmingham, UK. A successor to the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S, the new 911 GT3 R will be delivered race-ready with focus on “improved handling and drivablity“. It will be wider and packs more power than its predecessor, with a 473 horsepower 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine (upgraded from the previous 3.8-liter) that is couple to a six-speed sequential gearbox. It comes with additional features like Anti-Lock Braking System, traction control and an electionic “throttle-blip” on gear-down to help amateur drivers.

“Since we announced our intention to launch the 911 GT3 R, demand has been huge. The number of GT3 R vehicles we had planned for 2010 is almost sold out,” Porsche’s head of motorsport sales, Uwe Brettel said.

On the design side of it – the car comes with flared wheel arches on the front and rear. It also comes with a completely covered underbody and a rear diffuser. The front suspensions are height-adjustable McPherson struts, while at the rear, the GT3 R comes with a rigidly mounted sub-frame with a height-adjustable multi-arm axle. Both the front and back also come with adjustable SACHS two-way shock absorbers and double coil springs.

Expect to see the Porsche 911 GT3 R, with a base price starting at $405,000 (279,000 Euros) with first deliveries going out to customer teams around the world begin in Spring.
