Renault to Showcase New Megane Coupe-Cabriolet at Geneva Motor Show
The Renault stand at the Geneva Motor Show will showcase another Cabriolet Coupe along with the Wind Coupe Roadster, thereby making it the sixth and the final model in the new Megane series.
The four seater convertible carries two doors with an electric folding top like its predecessor with a distinctive feature – a fully automatic, two-piece glass top that can be lowered in just 21 seconds. It offers 417 litres of luggage space in the boot with the roof closed and 211 litres when open.
In an effort to provide some hardware alterations to the Megane CC, the French automaker has given its car a stiff chassis and a new electric power steering system. A glass wind deflector has also been fixed behind the rear head restraints. The car offers a wide array of efficient and eco-friendly powertrains that also include Renault’s new EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic transmission.
The customers may choose from 7 available options of the gasoline and diesel powertrains. To elaborate, the diesel options include the 110 HP dCi mated to either a new 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission or to a manual six-speed gearbox, and the 130 HP dCi and 160 HP dCi both mated to a a six-speed manual. For the petrol engine, the car may either have 110 HP 1.6-liter unit with a six-speed manual or TCe 130 also driving through a six-speed manual. Lastly a 140 HP 2.0-liter with a CVT is available too for greater driving comfort.
The car is equipped with the standard set of luxury features including hands-free starting and locking, Xenon headlamps, 3D sound by Arkamys audio, Carminat TomTom navigation and others with three basic interior themes, including glitzy charcoal-and-red two-tone leather.
The pricing has not been declared so far but we may expect the Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet to go on sale by spring.
