Suzuki Releases a Sketch of New S-Cross Compact Crossover Concept

Today Suzuki showed the world a glimpse of its new S-Cross concept car just before its 2012 Paris Motor Show debut in September. The glimpse was in the form of a teaser photo earlier and a sketch now. It’s a compact crossover in the C-segment, which is anticipated to be a replacement for the Suzuki SX4. Although the pair of teaser images shows a vague resemblance to the S-Cross, we can see a stubby five-door crossover in the mould of the Nissan Juke.

Suzuki said about the new S-Cross during a press meet that, “Suzuki’s crossover concept S-Cross embodies an “Emotion x Quality x Aerodynamics” design theme, which is typified by distinctive dynamic lines that start on the front bumper, sweep across the doors, and continue to the rear of the body. Design elements which suggest stability and solidity also help create a cutting-edge crossover look.” The design sketch released does not really provide any information about the details of the S-Cross, other than the fact that the front will have a skid plate and body claddings around the sills for that 4×4-lite crossover look. The rest is left for our imagination as of now.

The teaser images suggests that, we can expect the official release of Suzuki S-Cross in the near future and the sales might start in the late 2013 replacing the Suzuki SX4. All eyes are now set on the Paris Motor Show scheduled to happen next month, to get further details of the model. The Suzuki-Fiat deal which was stuck in 2006 to co-produce the Suzuki SX4 and Fiat Sedici at Suzuki’s plant in Hungary is going to come to an end now. The Italians are now working towards building a range of new, small SUVs. The current Suzuki SX4 was a product of the relationship between Suzuki and Fiat.
