The German supercar-maker, Gumpert, has confirmed the unveiling of two new cars at the upcoming 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The two new models are the Apollo R and the Apollo Enraged. It is believed that the picture is the Gumpert Apollo Enraged. This picture was clicked when the new model was being delivered to the back entrance of the Palexpo inGeneva.
The German sportsmaker has hinted that the Gumpert Apollo R will be a “true racecar with horsepower up to 860 hp”. Based on that, it is expected that the R version would be a pure race version of Apollo S. The Gumpert Apollo R is possibly built to rival the Pagani Zonda R. Gumpert are hoping to beat their 7 minute 11:57 time on the Nurburbring Nordschleife with their new power. It has a 4.2-L twin-turbocharged V8. Gumpert will also present a special edition version of Gumpert Apollo namely Gumpert Apollo Enraged. This new model is set to have a limited production of only three units. The Apollo Enraged is expected to be the “strongest Apollo that Gumpert has ever set on the road”. It has a 4.2-L twin-turbocharged V8 and will feature a staggering 780 hp.
It has also been confirmed that the Apollo Enraged will be street legal though doubts exist on how it could be used daily or just on the weekend on normal roads unless Gumpert have made substantial changes to the suspension setup as these cars are designed for the track. No other details have been provided at this point, but just a glimpse of the very first image gives an idea that it will definitely be a good looking supercar featuring an aggressive body styling which will differentiate it from the standard Apollo. Further information about two new hyper cars from the German sports car maker will be provided at the Geneva Motor Show.
