Acura returns with its new product — the 2013 ILX Sedan, which is expected to go on sale May 22 with a target to sell around 40,000 units in the United States annually. Similar to the RSX and Integra, the ILX shares some resemblances with Honda Civic; especially the driving dynamics is same as Civic despite the interiors are different. Also the ILX has the same suspension setup like in the Civic, but with different geometry. For an easier and smoother ride, shocks have extra damping and also the steering ratio is swifter than Civic. As the diameter of the steering shaft in the new ILX is thicker, it lessens steering wheel vibrations making steering ratio quicker.

Powered by a 2.0 liter engine, the ILX can sprint from 0-60 mph in 9.6 seconds, which is comparatively slow for this segment. The power of ILX comes with a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The comeback of Acura is really worth as it introduces a few more models according to the varied needs of the consumers. If you want more performance, a 201-hp 2.4-liter four-banger from the Civic Si is also available, but only with a six-speed stick. Besides, ILX offers another Acura version of the Civic Hybrid Hybrid that allows for cruising in EV mode between 10 and 45 mph and provides an estimated 39 mpg city/38 highway.

Moving to its interior, as said above has nothing similar to the Civic and active noise control uses the audio speakers to limit road noise in the cabin. Pricing of the upcoming models have also been fixed. The price of base ILX 2.0-liter edition, including destination charges starts from $26,795 while the modified 2.4-liter version starts at $30,095 and the ILX Hybrid at $29,795.

Other major specifications in the new 2013 ILX include keyless access, moonroof, 16-inch wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone climate control, speed-sensing windshield wipers, multi-information display, one-touch turn signals, and multiview rearview camera. A CD stereo with USB connection, Pandora Internet radio and SMS text messaging are also integrated.
