Audi Introduces RS Q3 Concept

Audi‘s RS performance division is now into production of new SUVs, namely the Q3, and created a giant, the RS Q3 Concept. Well set to unveil at Beijing Auto Show from 23 April to May 2, the vehicle has some tremendous features to showcase.

To “explore the potential of the Q3 model series in a new way,” says Audi; the body has been widened and then lowered by about an inch. A 2.5-litre turbocharged monster is placed under the bonnet to produce around 350 hp of power; enough to propel it from rest to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds.

The steering wheel has large control stalks made of carbon- fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP), with frames of  aluminium accents. The headlights are tinted slightly. The chrome parts inside them are covered by CFRP. Inside, the blue of the exterior is reflected in the CFRP decorative panels. By weaving brilliant blue luminescent glass fibres into it, these panel materials were produced. The black grille has brushed and polished aluminium trims.

Two laterally arranged ventilation screens feed air to the engine. The area around the five-cylinder engine that sports a red valve cover,is furnished by A layered-carbon trim panel. A seven-speed S tronic gear box drives all four wheels

This could be Audi’s next best WRC Car. A lot will be known when this Monster car is featured at Beijing Auto Show 2012.
