Can sporty and hybrid go together? Guess with cars like the Marcos Beltrao XSeed concept that crosses the sports car concept with that of a beach buggy, they definitely can. There have been cars like the 2011 Honda CR-Z and the very quick 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid before but this brainchild of designer Marcos Beltrao, is a vision of future fun transportation that is also eco-friendly.

With a superlight body made of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, the car features a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas or ethanol internal combustion engine connected to an electric motor and magnesium alloys. Marcos hints at a 0-60 mph time of just 4.5 seconds thanks to the 225-horsepower drivetrain. We are guessing that the Xseed is just a design exercise and don’t expect to see it on the roads anytime soon but the concept is truly futuristic and could preview the lightweight sports cars of the future.
