Kia motors have finally announced the pricing of its new 2010 Kia Forte Koup set to arrive at US dealers soon. cis primarily available in two different models: the EX model which starts off at $17,290 that includes a $695 destination fee.

This is $800 more than the equivalent Forte EX sedan. The SX model starts at $18,390 including delivery fees. The EX model comes with a 2.0-liter engine coupled to a five-speed, manual gearbox providing 156 Hp of power, while, the SX model comes with a 2.4-liter engine with 174Hp paired to a six-speed, manual gearbox. It has also a sportier suspension than EX. Additionally; Kia offers a five-speed, automatic transmission for both models for an extra $1,000.

The Kia Forte Koup’s modern, fresh and elegant styling is undoubtedly one of its strongest points. It paves way for a new design direction for Kia, which is making many efforts to distinguish its vehicles from its parent Hyundai’s. The Forte’s air intake and the mesh grille are part of a new Kia signature family looks expected to be seen in more Kia cars. A bold shoulder line along the length of the car and standard, 16-inch/optional, 17-inch alloy wheels give the Koup a sharp street appearance. On the whole, it looks terrific, and it is cleverly well-equipped. Features like stability and traction control, six air bags, anti-lock brakes with emergency aid, a superb stereo with iPod connectivity keyless entry, power windows, cruise control and Bluetooth are all standard on both ES and SX models. The Koup will have to compete head on head with the Ford Focus coupe, Honda Civic coupe, and the Scion tC.

The Kia Forte Koup is a compact 2 door coupe which is the first coupe from Kia Motors in the US and a sibling to the new Forte sedan. The word Koup is a combination of ‘K’ from Kia and the ‘oup’ from coupe. The production version of the Koup was shown at the 2009 New York International Auto Show. The car was initially launched as the Kia Koup concept car on 20 March, 2008 at the New York International Auto Show. With the pricing now announced officially, the car will be ready for delivery soon.

Kia has also stated that the new Forte Koup will provide a unique, driving experience and would be aimed at driving enthusiasts. The Koup will also be the basis for the new Kia Forte sedan that made debut at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show. Both sedan and coupe production models are in Kia showrooms as of summer 2009.
