To bring back the Lincoln as the true star of the industry that it was a decade ago, this luxury wing of Ford is bringing out all new 2010 Lincoln MKT. Introduced as a successor to the Navigator, this might be exactly what a typical Lincoln buyer would be expecting from them – soft, cozy, squishy cruisers for the luxury craving man.

Though in the exterior look department this is a little less than a marvel; with the tint-less glass roof and the back bulging out a little too much but in the interior it shows what luxury truly is. High quality leather and impressive wood finishes give the interior a plush and cozy feel. The leather-clad seating looks too inviting that simply opening and closing the doors would be next to impossible. Similarly impressive is the armrests at the door and the center console.
The MKT has been bought out in three different interior combinations, all of them having a third-row seating. The Ecoboost powered variant has been fixed with Ford’s excellent Travel Link navigation package, chrome 20-inch alloys and a panoramic moon-roof. In the normal position it has a solid 17.9 cubic feet of space but with the second and third rows stowed, the available space jumps up to 75.9 cubic feet. As an optional, a compressor powered mini fridge is also available between the second-row seats that can freeze ice in half the normal time and can hold up to three water bottles.

The behind-the-wheel experience in the MKT is one that cannot be defined properly as the thick, leather wrapped steering wheel induces from within a desire that can only be quenched by holding it tight and feeling it as it glides gracefully. The gauges are Lincoln’s corporate white-on-black which while being stylish, render very useful reading. Leg room is ample, and you would not feel cramped up even after an unusually long stretch behind the wheel.
Since the early times, Lincoln and the classic Ford have had a lot of similarities to them, but in the MKT, Ford has said that it would be sharing only a minimum of parts. Only a few interior parts and very less of anything else can be seen as common in both the models.
