A B20, bio-diesel capable 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty (HD) Truck is all set to come to a halt near your doorstep. The new truck will be more powerful and robust with its Allison 1000 six-speed transmission governed by a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 engine. It also incorporates some nifty new incorporations that you may appreciate for the vehicle include a ‘power-dome’ hood, a restyled grille, and a new chrome bumper.

A fascinating feature in this HD Truck is the exhaust brake system. This uses the turbine control of the turbocharger and compression of the engine to generate backpressure, so that the vehicle slows down without application of brakes. This has been integrated into the cruise control feature and will vary the braking according to gradient and vehicle load. The new smart exhaust brake system is designed to enhance brake pad life and eradicate the risk of brakes overheating during extended descents.  Indeed, the exhaust brake system will make the vehicle a perfect choice for any heavy-duty task and thereby making the Chevy Silverado HD a wonderful truck in the days ahead.

The new 2011 model of the Chevrolet Silverado will offer you a smooth ride and better drive-flexibility with its wide range of wheelbases from 133.6 inches to 167.7 inches. Chevy has not revealed torque statistics for its powerful B20 bio-diesel competent Duramax diesel engine, but we’re guessing it won’t disappoint you. According to Chevy, the much talked about engine is a “95th percentile” customer. A good Newton-meter along with enhanced fuel efficiency will indisputably accompany the 6.6-liter Duramax diesel that has been tested for 245 miles along Interstate 70 between Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado, towing a 20,000-pound trailer. This route goes through the Rocky Mountains and some of the Interstate’s steepest grades – truely adverse road conditions.

According to Jim Campbell, Chevy general manager, the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty Truck “offers greater strength and capability – including class-leading fuel economy, payload ratings – and has more power, accelerates quicker and has lower emissions. That sounds like the very definition of no compromises.” Talking about approval of the HD truck, he said “we sought the input of our customers during the development of the 2011 Silverado HD to deliver a truck that meets or exceeds their every need.”

Meanwhile, dont forget to check out the Chevrolet Silverado on sale.
