As the time for the final feast for auto enthusiasts draws a little closer, automakers have begun to announce what models will light up the stage at the 2010 Paris Motor Show this October. Here is the Japanese automotive goliath Honda who has just released the first images of its subcompact hybrid model Fit/Jazz Hybrid, as it prepares to make a worldwide debut at the show.

The Fit/Jazz Hybrid shares its drivetrain with the Insight, thus drawing power from 1.3-liter gasoline engine and a continuously-variable automatic transmission with an electric motor sandwiched between them. The Jazz Hybrid will be capable of being powered by the electric motor only for short distances. The performance figures are yet to be revealed by the company but expect the hybrid to return 100 g/km, and more than 65 mpg.

Honda has also tweaked up the exterior to distinguish the new model from regular Jazz variants with a new front grille, revised headlights with a blue surround, different bumpers, clear tail-lights and flashes of chrome on the rear hatch.  Inside, the Jazz Hybrid features a single-color dashboard and blue-lit dials and instruments.

It has not been stated whether or not the Fit/Jazz Hybrid will be bought to the North American market. However the European and Japanese sales have been scheduled to start in the first half of next year. Stay tuned to have more details around the Paris Motor Show.
