2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport May Arrive in the U.S. in Two Trims
Mitsubishi Motors has announced an enhancement of its Outlander line-up with a new crossover – the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. You will find the 5-passenger Sport will be slightly smaller than the popular 7-passenger CUV. With a completely renovated body, the new Mitsubishi Outlander is likely to hit the U.S. market in two trim levels: ES and SE. Both the trim levels will be available in 2WD and 4WD versions, says an informed auto expert.
The 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will be equipped with a 5-speed manual or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) powertrain compatible 2.0-Liter inline-4 engine. The highly fuel-efficient engine is expected to produce 143-lb.ft. of torque while giving 148-hp drivepower.
Describing the new Outlander Sport as fun-filled and eco-friendly, Shinichi Kurihara, President and CEO of MMNA, said, “The all-new 2011 Outlander Sport is a reflection of what happens when Mitsubishi Motors focuses its engineering and design resources on the mission of developing a fun, expressive, affordable, yet eco-friendlier vehicle.”
Notable tech specs of the vehicle include tilt & telescopic steering wheel, remote keyless entry, pollen filter enriched air conditioning system, and power windows and door locks. A steering wheel controlled 140-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with 4 speakers and speed compensated volume will make the car ideal for fun-filled joyride, says the expert.
“With a front fascia inspired by jet fighter air intakes that adorns the company’s legendary high-performance sports sedan – the Lancer Evolution – the Outlander Sport adds a dash of spice to an otherwise very humdrum segment. But the chiseled bodywork is not merely an aesthetic exercise – its smooth, flowing lines, tall beltline and rear spoiler all combine to give this stylish new model one of the lowest coefficients of drag of any car in its class,” says a press release announcing arrival of the vehicle.
