2012 Buick LaCrosse Pricing Announced, eAssist Model Will Also Be Available
The pricing of the LaCrosse has been announced by Buick for the 2012 model year. Also, the model has been equipped with some new features. The 2012 Buick LaCrosse featuring eAssist technology will be available for $30,810 including an $860 destination charge. Another version of the car powered by a V6 engine will also be available for the same price at some trim level.
The eAssist will have the standard powertrain and this model will feature a 2.4 liter four cylinder engine coupled with a 15kW electric motor. The electric motor is powered by a 115-volt lithium-ion battery and also features a regenerative braking system. Combined this model provides a fuel economy of 25mpg in city and 37 mpg in highway driving. This is an increase of 25 percent in the fuel economy compared to previous year’s model.
Another version of this car will feature a new, more efficient and powerful V6 engine. With direct fuel injection, this E85 capable 3.6 liter V6 engine with variable valve timing will produce 303 hp power and 264 lb-ft of torque. The improved design of this engine delivers more power than the previous engines without compromising the fuel economy. The front wheel drive model featuring the V6 is priced same as the eAssist model. Another all-wheel drive model will also be available but is to be rated yet.
Apart from performance, additional standard features in the new LaCrosse will be dual-zone climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, full-color driver information center, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Later, the 2012 LaCrosse will feature Buick IntelliLink as standard technology enabling the driver to connect his smartphone via Bluetooth or USB to an eight inch touchscreen display.
