Porsche has revealed the 2012 Cayman S Black Edition that will hit the showrooms towards the end of summer. The 2012 Porsche Cayman S Black Edition will be powered by a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection that is capable of producing 330 hp.

When mated to the optional PDK transmission and with the help of the optional Sport Chrono Package the Cayman S Black Edition can achieve a top track speed of 172 mph and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. EPA fuel economy is anticipated to be 20 city and 29 highway whereas it will be 19/26 when equipped with six-speed manual transmission with a top track speed of 173 mph.

As the name indicates, the vehicle is available only in solid black and gets a monochrome treatment with a black body and black-painted 19-inch Boxster Spyder design wheels as well as black side air intake grilles, black twin exhaust tailpipes and the model designation on the rear deck lid also painted black.

The interior also gets the monochromatic theme where black is the only available color with aluminum and stainless steel accents. Also painted black are the trim strips on the dashboard and around the six-speed manual shift lever or the gear selector for the optional PDK seven-speed double clutch transmission. Meanwhile, the Porsche crest is embossed on the headrests and a limited-edition badge on the glove compartment.

Incidentally, the black-painted exterior and interior touches are part of the Design package available on other Cayman models. The standard Convenience package is inclusive of Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering function, auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors, rain sensor and automatic climate control.

Only limited numbers of the 2012 Porsche Cayman S Black Edition will be produced with an MSRP of $67,500.
