The price of the refreshed 2013 Ford Taurus SHO has just been revealed on Ford’s website. The Taurus SHO will start at $39,995 but it is currently available at $38,995 with a $1,000 customer cash back offer. The refreshed model reflects a $1,045 increase over the outgoing model. The latest model comes with a new look and improved performance features. The new Ford Taurus has carried over the same 3.5-L EcoBoost V6 as the 2012 models, producing 365 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque with a six-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

The key differences between the two models are on the exterior. The 2013 Taurus SHO has a unique upper grille lined by HID headlights. The lower fascia also has a revised grille opening along with LED fog lights mounted towards the outside of the front end with a new shape and design. This model has new 19-inch aluminium wheels and black mirrors that are specific to the SHO package. At the back the subtle changes include the new taillights. It has a revised sport tuned suspension, a new torque vectoring system and an electric power-assisted steering. The new SHO has an improved performance braking system which includes a large master cylinder, revised brake booster system and larger front rotors.  All this combined gives the new sedan a much better stopping power than the outgoing 2012 models.

Ford has spiced up the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO with an optional performance package that includes larger brakes, 20-inch machined and painted wheels, performance brake pads and track-tuned calipers. This package also has an enhanced extreme-duty cooling system, performance summer-compound tires and electronic stability control track mode with “true off”. The package adds $1,995 to the bottom line and is an increase of $1,000 over the outgoing performance package on the 2012 Taurus SHO.
