We already know what to expect of the 2013 RX range thanks to a previous leak but the brand has now debuted the latest range at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The range includes the familiar RX 350 and RX 450h models as well as a new RX 450h F-sport model. Lexus has always attempted to show that hybrids can be sporty and this is the first time that Lexus is attaching its F-Sport title, and introducing subtle performance upgrades, to a hybrid.
Key upgrades on all 2013 Lexus RX models include an aggressive spindle grille, new headlight and bumper designs, and LED daytime running lights. The steering wheel has been redesigned and a powered rear door and USB/iPod/mp3 control are now standard. A metallic accent enhances the look of the glove box.
The RX 350 with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a six-speed automatic with manual mode produces a peak output of 270 horsepower. The RX 450h hybrid with a 3.5-liter V-6 delivers a total of 295 horsepower. The big new addition to the range is the RX 450h F-Sport available as a Sport Appearance Package in the U.S. The upgrade offers a unique front bumper, revised headlights, and 19-inch wheels with a “superchrome” finish. Expect the 2013 Lexus RX range in showrooms this fall.
