2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Caught on Video While Testing

Ahead of its debut, a spy video of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette has been released. Even though, the video is of poor quality, the one who managed to shoot the footage became successful in letting the public know some special features of the newly built vehicle. The video was caught when the prototype was undergoing testing on public roads. However, the prototype resembles a car which was captured earlier this year.

The new model is expected to have a larger air intake along with a longer wheelbase and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Engine specifications are not known, but speculations are there the model could use a pushrod V8 engine with direct-injection and variable valve timing. There’s been much talk of a turbocharged V6, and an engine in the middle, but there is no proof to back that claim as of yet. It seems the mystery regarding the engine will only be revealed close to its debut. Rumors are there the car could be set with a seven-speed manual transmission.

The tailpipes of 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 are closer together than its predecessor — the C6. If there are no changes in engine specifications, it would remain the same as in the C6. Even if, more details regarding the car are not available, the next-generation Corvette will be built in Bowling Green, Kentucky and could be launched sometime next year.

Head on over to World Car Fans to view the video.
