Aston Martin is all set to debut in the States, and its U.S pricing has now been revealed. Before the Bond car aficionados are gearing up to own one of these, just take a note on the price-tag; it is $199,950. Well the Aston Martin has always been such an opulent car, but once you own them, they assure you nothing but world-class comfort and envy from lot others.
The Aston Martin’s first production sports-car will feature a spacious trunk providing accommodation for up to four adults combined with all the practicality of a car. The Rapide’s elegant beauty combined with a sporty profile will be adorned with all the traits of modern day Aston Martin sports car.
The Aston Martin Rapide will be heading for some tough competition ahead. Porsche Panamera will be a strong contender in terms of capacity and performance. The fact that Panamera’s price range starts from $89,800 (for the S model) up to a $132,600 mark (for the Turbo) will cause some worries for the Aston Martin. However, considering the style and comfort the Rapide offers along with the elegance it carries, it should attract quite a lot of new customers to the brand.
The new Rapide will be the first sports-car to be hand-built at Aston Martin’s Rapide Plant in Graz, Austria. The building has all the features within the 17,000 square-meters to build the affluent Rapide. It includes advanced manufacturing processes with most modern technology and hand built craftsmanship.
The Rapide is now available to be ordered from the Aston Martin dealership showrooms across North America. The pricing of Rapide does not stop at the $200,000 mark but just mounts up with the amount of customization one demands. In the first year about 2,000 Rapides will be built and the delivery will commence in the spring of 2010.
