BMW Reportedly Mulls 4-Series Lineup
If certain reports are to be believed BMW intends to bring out a 4 Series line-up that will include sedan, coupe and convertible variants as well as a four-door coupe type of vehicle. Meanwhile, the company is yet to officially confirm such plans.
According to Auto Motor Und Sport, the BMW 4-Series will feature a coupe-like roof line and will likely compete with the Audi A5 Sportback.
Incidentally, there were reports of the launch of a BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo variant still scheduled for 2013. Chances that the 4-Series could be the 3-Series Gran Turismo variant is yet to be determined.
Many speculations are available for the probable introduction of a 4-Series. The new range will share features of the BMW 6 Series and will likely be placed between the 3 and 5 Series. The design will aim to reel in a different set of customers who would like a more viable alternative to the 6 Series Coupe.
Meanwhile, BMW intends to debut a four-door coupe variant of the 6 Series in 2012. In addition, the company has reportedly filed for U.S. trademarks for 2 Series model designation that will likely be the nomenclature of the next-generation of 1 Series coupe and convertible models.
