New pictures of the much awaited 2011 BMW X5 M Sports Package from the German car giant are out. It has definitely undergone an overhaul with turbocharged power plants , but not too many obvious exterior changes.

Features and details are very limited but innovative; the car comes with a cool feature package – an improved color- coded body kit with front and rear bumper fascias with more body paint than black trim, side skirts, revised head lamps and tail-lights, bigger central and outer air intakes up front, and, exclusive 19-inch different light alloy wheel designs. The interiors of the car will come fitted with sport seats, an M Sport steering wheel, and special aluminum steel.

Performance-wise, it is equipped with the latest Adaptive Drive and an increased top speed meter for US roads. It gets a new generation of turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines besides BMW’s 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The xDrive35i for US roads will release about 300-hp as an entry-level car. The petrol range xDrive50i with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 releases 400-hp for US roads and 407-hp for European roads. The diesel xDrive30d is powered by a 245-hp motor and the xDrive40d is powered by an improved 3.0-liter with a powerful 306-hp.

Prices in the US will exclude destination and handling fees. The X5 without the 306-hp diesel engines will start at a little less than US $ 50,000 for the basic xDrive35i, and a few thousands dollars more for the xDrive50i and the xDrive35d. The X5 will release in two additional trim levels called “Premium” and “Sports Activity.”

The vehicle symbolises power and presence. So, watch  out for the X5!
