Bugatti Galibier 16C Heading for Production







The  Bugatti Galibier 16C concept is one among the super sedans in the world. The concept had an incredibly opulent interior and a powerful-  8.0-litre W-16 engine. The latest reports from within  the company says that the super sedan is no longer just a concept,  its got the green light for production.

The company has not confirmed the reports,  but the Galibier 16C was developed as a potential production car,  depending on the reaction received from the clients.  Just after few public showings,  the sedan was loved for its distinctive features.  The Galibier  16C would cost around $1.45 million.  One of the most striking feature is the twin tone body which comprises of polished aluminium for the doors and front fenders, and dark-  blue- carbon fibre weave.  It also has the centre spine that was present in the previous Bugattis like the Type 35 and Type 57.  The car features 4 seats inside its beautiful-  leather and wood cocoon.  The interior is as striking as the exterior.  The dash panel has only the essentials.

It also has two instruments which keep the rear passengers aware of the speed and performance of the vehicle.   It is not a thorough bred speed demon like the Veyron. The Galibier has a refined eight-speed automatic transmission  instead of twin-clutch gearbox.  It gets 800 hp from a 2 stage super charging system unlike the 1000 hp obtained by the Veyron from its quad-turbocharged W16 engine.  Another feature of the engine is that it is a multii-fuel engine and also can run on ethanol.  All the top- electronic- driving help is provided to the driver and, it has an advanced- active suspension system that enables easy drive.

It is a four wheel drive and has specially developed ceramic brakes.  A blend of modern and classical technology comes in the form of a Swiss clock namely Reverso Tourbillon from Parmigiani.  This serves as car’s interior clock and can be removed and worn on the wrist using a custom designed leather strap.  The reports says that the Galibier 16C would touch a maximum of 217 mph which is way below the Veyron’s.  Galibier is the name of four doored Type 57 model. The cars could start rolling out of the factory by early 2010.
