Cadillac CTS Gives another Sneak Peak, This Time Minus Cladding
The brand new Cadillac ATS and XTS are hogging the limelight for Cadillac currently, but that does not mean that the popular Cadillac CTS has taken a back seat, as the CTS is a vehicle that is on the verge of entering its third generation when the 2014 model year hits. We have viewed the spy shots of new CTS earlier, but as of now the cladding has been removed thus enabling us to get a better visual at CTS’s new design despite of the eye-jumbling zebra paper.
The term “new” would not suit Cadillac well as it is still a very loyal follower of its Art & Science design theme. Consequently, expecting an evolution would be better than expecting a revolution as far as the new larger CTS is concerned. The Cadillac’s grille is still large and in charge, however the headlamps seem to be smaller and swept back over the front fenders, it will look similar to what we see on ATS dimensionally, as the CTS is anticipated to grow in size it will lead to more gap between it and the entry-level ATS.
Speculations are rife regarding what exactly can be expected under hood, if the latest reports are to be believed, it advocates a pair of new twin-turbocharged engines, possibly measuring in at 3.0 and 3.6 liters, positioned above the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 currently found in the CTS. Naturally eight-cylinder power will be reserved for the high-performance V variant – a vehicle set to take on the likes of Germany’s finest. As far as the interior is concerned a new cabin design is on the cards, all centered around Cadillac’s brand new Cue Infotainment System. Agreed that we are getting to see the CTS without cladding currently but that does not guarantee the production car to make its grand splash into the market in the near future. Caddy is expected to give a sneak peak at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
