Believe it or not, days are not far away when car crashs will be a thing of the past, if Cadillac has its way! They have already achieved a significant development in designing crash-proof technologies  that seem to be straight out of a well-planned sci-fi. Cadillac has always advocated better road-safety and often brings improved features to make its new designs highly safe. However, with the present safety project at hand, Cadillac may redefine road-safety aspects bringing cars of tomorrow to a new generation of existence.

According to the director for Global Active Safety at Cadillac John Capp, Cadillac’s crash-free future technologies might include an in-vehicle Doppler radar for identifying and isolating approaching obstructions or traffic jams. Capp has also indicated arriving of autonomous vehicles that will be able to drive on their own by communicating with each other, controlling-buildings, traffic signals, and alike.

We see things moving toward a point in the future where perhaps vehicles won’t crash,” said Capp. “We work on developing advanced safety technologies for Cadillac that alert drivers to potential dangers around them.”

Towards realizing future crash-proof cars, Cadillac has already commissioned several new technologies such as lane departure warning system, blind spot alert mechanism, adaptive cruise control sensors, etc. in its 2010 Cadillac STS Platinum. We’re evolving those technologies to develop the capability where vehicles will be able to avoid crashes,” Capp added.
