Chevrolet Avalanche Bids Goodbye
The Chevrolet Avalanche, better known for its trendsetting design and unique features, will soon become a part of history. The 2013 Black Diamond Avalanche will be the last version of the outgoing Chevy model.
The Black Diamond Avalanche has been endowed with an assortment of features in order to give it the special look and feel. The pickup truck will feature body-colored bed surrounds, a unique badge on the sail panel, and several other additional features on the LS and LT models.
The base price of the Black Diamond Avalanche has come down by a significant margin – $2,500. This would mean that customers would be able to get the 2WD Avalanche LS at a starting price of $35,980, in additional to a dealer freight charge of $995.
More than just being a truck for work purpose, GM has tried hard to maintain a lifestyle truck image with more versatility. Additional equipment that have been included as standard on LS models include rear park assist, power adjustable pedals, fog lamps and remote start. At the same time, the LT models will feature an additional standard rear camera as well.
According to Mark Clawson, Avalanche marketing manager, more than 580,000 Avalanches have been sold since its introduction in 2001, and Avalanche has won major awards and recognitions throughout its run, and thus it is only fitting that the vehicle retires on a high note.
