BMW fuel pump problems on the rise

Kimmel and Silverman, one of the oldest and largest lemon law firms, has stated that the fuel pump issue with BMW vehicles is rising. They claim to have successfully resolved numerous lemon law and breach of warranty claims dealing with the BMW fuel pump issue. It included both refunds and significant cash recoveries. According to firm, this problem has been found in 1-series, 3-series and 5-series BMW vehicles.

Although BMW is working to resolve this issue, it appears that a number of BMW drivers are faced with multiple repairs related to this problem. BMW has extended the warranty on the fuel pump to 10 years/120,000 miles. What’s worse is that a number of service advisors are claiming that “bad gas” could be the cause of these problems even without attempting to repair it. Fuel pump failure can have a number of disastrous consequences including stalling. Hence, it is important that BMW drivers report incidents to the dealers and seek timely intervention if they feel that service advice is not right. It is advised that customers document all repair invoices for later use. The invoice should include the problem you have complained about, number of days in service, how the problem was finally fixed and if any components were replaced too. Even if you are sent back with a gasoline issue, it is best to get an invoice for that too.

In case a customer feels that their BMW could be a lemon (ie, a car continually failing to meet standards of quality and performance), they are advised to take quick action. If they feel that they may have a lemon law claim, they need to get in touch with a consumer lemon law lawyer.
