Expect Evoque Sport to Hit the Market with Aerodynamic Body Kit and Bigger Wheels
The best way to keep the Range Rover in demand is to ensure a steady stream of new and special models in the pipeline because consumer interest in any product declines over time. Apart from the Special Edition with Victoria Beckham Evoque and the Evoque Cabrio that we already know about, an Evoque Sport is also planned. Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern, has reportedly said, “For the moment, we’re looking at the cabriolet and special editions – we could do a more overtly sporty one, for example.” There has been no confirmation as such that an Evoque Sport is under development but going by the success of the pricier Range Rover Sport models such an Evoque variant does make sense.
Expect the Evoque Sport to come to market with an aerodynamic body kit, bigger wheels, low profile tires and a suspension drop that would limit the Sport to on-road use. The Evoque’s 2.0-liter gasoline
engine delivers an output of 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. Evoque also has a pair of diesel engine options to choose from in Europe so a diesel Sport model could be under consideration. However this will not be anytime soon because Evoque Sport would have global appeal and Evoque diesels aren’t currently offered in the United States.
