Ferrari Helps Victims of Italy Earthquake: Opens Online Auction
Ferrari is all set to raise funds to help victims of the Italy earthquake that shattered the Emilia-Romagna region since May 20, 2012. The automaker has announced that it plans to open an international online auction to raise funds, which would be given to the families of victims of the earthquakes. The officials in Ferrari were quite happy to announce the news and they said that as soon as news of the earthquakes broke out, the clients from around the globe contacted them to offer donations. They said such donations would help the victims and their families as the situation there is worse.
“In the days leading up to the auction next week, www.ferraristore.com will dedicate a section to this important initiative which sets out to contribute significant sums to those families who have lost loved ones,” said the automaker in a statement.
Ferrari plans to auction off the 599XX Evo — a rare and important model developed by the automaker. Besides, Ferrari will auction off items including a V8 engine, racing suits and helmets donated by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa anlong with a bunch of other memorabilia from the Formula 1 theme.
