Ford Announces Special Service Vehicle Package for the Ford F-150

Ford announced that the automaker will be offering the Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle (SSV) Package to police, fire stations and other commercial fleets. It simply means that the Ford F-150 arrives exclusively  to protect and serve at a local government/ municipal facility. Ford has developed the new model with more power specifications, and the new SSV includes a high-capacity 220-amp alternator to back fleet-class electrical needs.

The Ford F-150 is available in both SuperCab and SuperCrew configurations and can opt for both 5.0-liter V8 and 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines. The 5.0-liter four-valve dual-overhead-camshaft Ti-VCT V8 engine is one of the options, which generates 360 horsepower at 5,500 rpm with 21 mpg highway, unsurpassed 15 mpg city. The 3.5-liter Ti-VCT EcoBoost engine produces 365 horsepower at 5,000 rpm on regular fuel with best-in-class 420 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm.

“Our fleet customers have been asking us to create this option for F-Series trucks. We’re confident the current and updated 2013 F-150 equipped with the SSV Package will be of particular interest to our government customers with rugged jobs such as law enforcement, firefighting, and national and state park patrols,” said Tony Gratson —Ford Government Sales Manager.
