Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone Expresses Interest to Buy Bankrupt Nurburgring

According to the sources, Nurburgring may get a chance to survive as Formula One Chief Executive Officer, Bernie Ecclestone, has expressed interest in purchasing the world’s most famous closed road racing circuit. Nurburgring, a motorsports complex around the village of Nurburg in Germany houses a Grand Prix race track alongside an age old North loop track. The race circuit had a golden period until it became bankrupt recently. Fans and enthusiasts across the globe have been cringing over the fact that their favorite racing track is in trouble due to bankruptcy. The present scenario, as per insiders is due to the fact that the current owners of the racing circuit sort of bit off more than they could chew. They wanted to make the race circuit one of the popular tourist attractions with entertainments facilities such as an amusement park and shopping mall. But they couldn’t.

The expression of interest by Bernie Ecclestone may help Nurburgring to restore its fame and this new decision could potentially rescue the track from a real trouble. Thanks to Ecclestone for taking initiative to save the track. However, Ecclestone remains tightlipped as he refused to comment on the situation. He according to a German magazine said that despite his interest to takeover the track, a Formula One race at the Nurburgring will not happen at his own expense.
