GM Canada Recalls 100,000 Vehicles Due To Daytime Running Lights Failure

General Motors has issued a recall for several of its models, including the Aveo, the Epica, the Pontiac G3 Wave and the Optra. The recall was initiated after a problem with the daytime running lights showed up. The company attributes the problem to an electrical failure, and has also warned that ignoring the problem could possibly lead to accidents.

More than 100,000 units of General Motors’ vehicles will be affected by the recall. The vehicles include the 2004-2007 Chevrolet Aveo, 2004-2006 Chevrolet Epica, 2005-2006 Chevrolet Optra and 2004-2007 Pontiac G3 Wave. Once notified, owners of these models will have to drive their vehicles over to the nearest GM dealership to have the problem looked into. This recall, however, remains valid only for Canada since daytime running lights are not mandatory in the United States.
