Jaguar F-Type Spotted While Testing: Comes With a 5.0 Liter V8 Engine
Ahead of its official debut scheduled in 2013, the Jaguar F-Type has been spotted during the testing of its prototype. Earlier, the images of the Jaguar F-Type have been leaked and the new one is different and looks similar to the previous images. But there is a major difference. While Jaguar’s official spy photos display the F-Type with a twin exhaust pipe coming out at the centre back, this F-Type has two twin exhausts – a pair each side.
It is now understood that the new one is actually the F-Type featuring 5.0 liter V8 engine. It is assumed that the engine specification has been sourced from the XF and integrates supercharging technology. The new V8 engine is expected to generate as much as 542PS (399kW/535hp) which is sure to appeal to their power hungry punters. Earlier, at the Beijing Motor Show, the 3.0-liter V6 unit was also announced to be employed in the upcoming F-Type, which is available at two power levels: 380PS (279kW / 375hp) and 340PS (250kW / 335hp) with 450Nm (332 lb-ft). Powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine, the new F-Type will sprint from 0-62mph in just 4 seconds.
