Kia Motors Planning to Debut a V8 Sedan in Frankfurt
South Korean automaker Kia Motors has revealed plans to bring out a V8-powered sedan in the Frankfurt Motor Show that will begin in September. The Korean automaker’s V8-powered sedan will be the company’s first ever rear-drive vehicle, which will be competing with Benz and BMW.
The vehicle that is referred to as the K9 is expected to be the biggest, boldest Kia the automaker has designed. The new Kia sedan will borrow the styling inspiration from the original BMW 5-Series sedan.
In a conversation with theage, Peter Schreyer the designer of the company said, “I think when you can work with the rear-wheel drive proportion it is always good for the designer. For a big sedan it is the better proportion; fantastic proportion of course.”
When it comes to the design, the vehicle will have a second-generation Genesis architecture along with V6 and V8 engines from its parent automaker Hyundai. It is anticipate that the new vehicle will be available in right-hand drive.
