Lexus LF-A Confirmed for Tokyo Motor Show







The Japanese automaker Lexus have set their stands for the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show by confirming the world premiere of the “revolutionary two seater super-car”. To be more precise, they have confirmed that the super car- Lexus LF-A will make its debut in just a couple of days as the Tokyo Auto Show will roll out the red carpet. In addition to the LF-A, The Japanese automaker has also confirmed the Japanese Domestic Market debut of the Lexus LF-Ch compact-premium hybrid-concept.

Unfortunately, Lexus did not release any photos or information of the long awaited and highly anticipated two-seat super car. However, reports assert that the Lexus LF-A will be gearing up to compete with exotic cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo in terms of performance & price. This is a fact that is making everyone wait eagerly to see how ace will be the Lexus LF-A. The rumors about LF-A has been there for years, with the first concept shown in 2005 by Lexus.

Power for the two-seat LF-A super-car will come from a 4.8-liter V10. It is expected to deliver at least a power of 550 hp. Power will be channelized to the rear wheels through a 6-speed, semi-automatic transmission. That in turn, allows the super car to speed to about 218mph. Toyota has set an internal goal of a 7 minute 30 second Nürburgring lap-time for the LF-A. One has to wait and see if that will be achieved.

These are hugely exciting times for both Toyota & Lexus as Toyota has confirmed the public debut of the FT-86 compact sports-coupe at the Tokyo Auto Show. It seems that the Japanese giant is has taken a break from the Hybrid Synergy Drive and is into bringing some excitement by focusing on performance. The launch of the Lexus LF-A will be greeted by lots of enthusiasts of the Toyota worldwide.

The LF-A will be the most powerful and expensive Lexus till date, with a starting price above $200,000. Only, 500 units of the LF-A will be made initially.
