Modified Nismo GT-R to feature in GT300 Class
Japan’s Super GT Series has a new guest, the Nissan Nismo GT-R. When you think about the Super Series, the first things to strike your mind will be the super cars cruising through the race tracks. The 500 horse power V8 engines of the Lexus, Suzuka, Nissan and Motegi, flashes before the eye. But that was all about the GT500 Class cars. Just below the 500 class, there is the GT300 Class, where new challenges are already underway. This season, the GT300 series will feature Subaru BRZ, Toyota Prius and Honda CR-Z.
The competition will have cars, with engines that generate 300hp. In the GT500 series, Nissan is almost unchallenged. The manufacturers fielded a purpose built a machine for the series race. This year, for the GT300 series, Nissan will feature a production based vehicle as part of its strategy. In fact, the new car is built based on the Nismo GT3 road car version. From there, the manufacturers have introduced certain modifications. They have introduced an air restrictor, which will help to bring the power down to 300hp, in order to comply with regulations of the series.
Nissan Driver Development Program will undertake the modifications to be made on the vehicle. In addition to the Japanese 300GT Series, the car will also take part in several race competitions held across North America, andAustralia.
