NADA Nominates David Westcott as 2013 Chairman
David Westcott has been nominated by the National Automobile Dealers Association’s (NADA) board of directors, as the group’s chairman in 2013 while Forrest McConnell III has been nominated as Vice Chairman. Usually, the vice chairman is elected chairman for the following year and this would pave the way for Forrest McConnell III to be the next Chairman. The board of directors unanimously nominated both to be NADA’s heads.
David Westcott — the 2012 NADA vice chairman and NADA director from North Carolina, has been serving as the president of David Westcott Automotive with Buick, GMC and Suzuki franchises in Burlington, N.C. He has been a dealer since 1981. Forrest McConnell III is the president of McConnell Honda and Acura in Montgomery, Ala and is the 2012 chairman of NADA’s industry relations committee.
NADA plans to conduct election at its meeting during fall this year and since the nominees are unopposed, the election would be little more than a formality. Besides electing Chairman and Vice Chairman, the board also will be choosing a secretary and treasurer. For that, the nominees are Jeff Carlson, a Ford-Lincoln and Subaru dealer in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Gary Reynolds, a Subaru dealer in Lyme, Conn. George Nahas is the only nominee for treasurer and he is a Chevrolet dealer in Wildwood, Fla.
