New 2011 Ford Explorer Exits the Shadows, Offers Peek into Interiors
Ford is all set to launch its latest Explorer, the new 2011 Ford Explorer. Although the public got a first look of the SUV during the 2008 Detroit auto show, the new Ford Explorer set to launch next week is expected to look very different when compared to the concept.
The Ford Explorer remained the nation’s best-selling SUV from 1995 to 2004 and the new Explorer promises to be a gas guzzler no more. Although the going has not been great for the Ford Explorer in recent years, the new Explorer promises to offer the customer the best with an improved essence of the Explorer.
Teaser Photos Offer Sneak Peak
To connect with its customers and bust myths, Ford has been releasing teaser photos of the new Explorer. Jennifer Brace, who helped design the revolutionary MyFord Touch – driver connect technology was a part of the recent new 2011 Ford Explorer teaser. The MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch intends to get rid of bulky vehicle buttons, which are commonly used and replace them with voice command functions, dual 4.2-inch LCD screens in front of the driver with five-way button steering wheel controls and an 8-inch touch screen all controlling a simplified SYNC system.
Ford has been offering tidbits of information along with the pictures on its Facebook page. According to the preliminary test results on its Facebook page, its EcoBoost engine is believed to give the Explorer 19 m.p.g at least in the city and 26 m.p.g on the highway.
Allan Mulally, Ford President and CEO together with Mike Rowe will unveil the all-new 2011 Ford Explorer on Monday, 26 July at the Herald Square. Jim Buczkowski will cover all aspects of the in-car technology and it is believed that a number of Ford executives will be available on the day including Julie Rocco and Julie Levine.
