NHTSA Announces Recall on 2010 Porsche Panamera
Joining the recall bandwagon is Porsche, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration anouncing a recall of the 2010 Porsche Panamera. NHTSA was notified of an issue with the seatbelt mounts of the 2010 Panamera – where they get detached from the anchoring mechanism when the front seats are adjusted in an “extreme position”. The report does not detail what is meant by “extreme position”, however we presume that this could be the case when the seat are pulled way forward towards the dash.
Since Porsche has not yet sent out an official notification to the respective owners, you can call 1-800-545-8039 to find the status of this recall. The recall could affect up to 3,176 vehicles, and you could take your 2010 Porsche Panamera (S, 4S and Turbo models) to the nearest Porsche dealership to have it fixed, free of charge. We recommend you call your dealer ahead of time and make an appointment to ensure a that you have the new locking element installed without too much hassle.
