Opel Zafira Tourer to Make World Premiere at Frankfurt
Opel said its Zafira Tourer will make its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle which will make the world premiere at the Motor Show that is scheduled from September 15 – 25, 2011 will offering a perfect blend of functionality and wellness.
The unique feature of the Zafira Tourer is that the vehicle will have a generous cabin space and flexible seating system. The vehicle will also provide ample storage space including the revolutionary multi-functional FlexConsole.
The new vehicle from the German automaker features a distinctive front with its bold twin boomerang graphics that sweeps from the top of the headlights to the bottom of the fog lamps. Like other models in the range, the headlights of the Zafira Tourer feature the Opel-typical wing shaped daytime running light graphic.
In the interior, the Zafira Tourer comes with high-class quality cabin that is dominated by dynamic, sculptural shapes and a feeling of spacious comfort. The company noted that the bright, airy lounge atmosphere in the Zafira Tourer can be enhanced by the optionally available panorama windscreen.
The new vehicle from Opel will also feature various innovative Driver Assistant systems that enhance the driving comfort and overall safety. This includes a radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Mitigating Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition functionality, Following Distance Indication, Forward Collision Alert and many other features.
At the time of its launch, the Opel Zafira Tourer will be available with three versions of the 2.0 CDTI common-rail turbo diesel engines. Each version will have power output of 110 hp, 130 hp and 165 hp. The vehicle will also be available in gasoline with two downsized, fuel-efficient 1.4 ECOTEC turbo-charged gasoline units with power outputs of 120 hp and 140 hp.
