Porsche Design, a subsidiary of the German automaker, has recently unveiled the Porsche P’9522 Black Edition mobile phone in Singapore. Porsche first entered the mobile phone market three years ago with the launch of the P’9521 mobile phone. The first designer cell phone won rave reviews, with the readers of German Telecommunications magazine “Connect” voting it as “Product of the Year 2007″ in the luxury phone category.

The new P’9522 Black Edition will be available only to existing Porsche owners. Around 1600 of these cell phones are being made, and Porsche owners can buy it from the car dealership, Stuttgart Auto. The sleek, super-luxury phone comes along an equally grand price tag of 2,280 Singapore dollars ($1,636). Sagem Wireless is the manufacturer of the phone. The phone will eventually head to Hong Kong next, before making its way to China, Dubai, Germany and Russia.

The phone has ultra luxurious features. Looks-wise, it is the same as its predecessor, although it comes with some black tones. The body is made out of black anodized aluminum and black mineral glass. The most advanced feature includes a Biometric Fingerprint Sensor technology which helps you to secure data and phone books in the device. Which means, you might be able to start your car with your phone, James Bond style!

Porsche is expecting higher mobile phone sales from the Middle East region. It has already done well in China, where it has around 12 showrooms. Porsche Design is also working on a super luxury yacht that it plans to launch in Asia.
