BMW Announces Pricing For ACTIVEHYBRID X6 and 550i GT
German carmaker BMW has announced pricing information for the ActiveHybrid X6 and the 550i Gran Turismo. Both the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 and the 550i GT will be available at the dealerships from December 5, 2009. The base MSRP including destination and handling charges will be $89,725 and $64,725 respectively.
The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 comes with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 and a nickel-metal hybrid power-pack. According to BMW, the combined output equals an incredible 480 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. This should be sufficient enough to title the ActiveHybrid X6 as the world’s most powerful gasoline-electric hybrid. The X6 Hybrid races from standstill to sixty in 5.4 seconds and reaches a max electronically-limited speed of 130 mph.
The ActiveHybrid delivers a fuel-economy of 17 mpg city /19 mpg highway and emission rates of just 231 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The transmission is a spanking new two-mode active transmission which has a standard seven-speed automatic transmission and an electrical CVT. The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 boasts a number of standard features including 20-inch aero wheels with mixed-size performance tires, extended Nappa leather on the center console and dashboard, rear-view camera with head-up display and top view.
Next in the lot is the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo. It also is fitted with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine which is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 550i GT provides a power output of 407 hp and torque of 600 Nm. the 550i can sprint from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds, and attains an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The 5-seater Gran Turismo also will stand out as a luxurious outfit.
The standard Package includes the luxury rear seating package, the Nappa leather package, active ventilated-seats, a back-up camera, the cold weather package, the premium sound package and lots more. Apart from these, there is a long list of features including technical and entertainment stuff for both the ActiveHybrid X6 and the 550i GT.

The 550i Gran Turismo arrives in showrooms with an MSRP of $64,725.
Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, November 18, 2009… BMW today announced pricing for the first of its 5 Series Gran Turismo models to reach US shores. The 550i Gran Turismo will be available beginning December 5, 2009 with a base MSRP of $64,725, including $825 Destination & Handling.
The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo is a new interpretation of a classic concept offering, in this case, luxury seating for four or five in combination with remarkably flexible storage options. 550i Gran Turismo will combine the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with BMW’s first-ever 8-speed automatic transmission. With maximum output of 400 horsepower and peak torque of 450 lb-ft., the 550i Gran Turismo will accelerate from 0 – 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds.
The 550i Gran Turismo provides a luxurious travelling experience for five. The available Luxury Rear Seating Package creates the ultimate first class environment for two rear passengers. The unique dual-access tailgate offers the choice of a tradition trunk opening or full tailgate access to the generous rear luggage area.

In addition to BMW’s interpretation of two-mode hybrid technology, mated to the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 the price includes a number of standard features which are optional on the X6 xDrive50i. These include a unique 7-speed automatic transmission, Extended Nappa leather (including the dashboard and center console), 20-inch Aero Wheels with mixed-sized performance tires, Rearview camera with Top View and Head-up display.
