Range Rover Evoque to be Introduced Next Year

A faster and sportier version of the Range Rover Evoque is being planned by Land Rover which is likely to be named Evoque Sport. The news was released at the Beijing Motor Show by the design director Gerry McGovern during an interview. According to McGovern, eighty percent of the Evoque buyers are completely new to the Land Rover brand. This allowed the bran to expand its appeal with models such as the Evoque Cabrio and Special Edition with Victoria Beckham.

You can go too far with the Evoque, but what’s so right about the car is it has what I call killer proportions,” McGovern said. “For the moment, we’re looking at the cabriolet and special editions – we could do a more overtly sporty one, for example.” No details were revealed about the engine that would be offered in this new model. But the development of the current 240 hp 2.0-L four-cylinder turbo could be used to power the Evoque Sport.

The model is expected to feature an aggressive body kit, bigger brakes and a sport-tuned suspension that reduces the ride height by 10 mm. Also expected are larger alloy wheels and an improved steering system for sharper handling.
