A mid-cycle rejuvenation has added a few incredible visual updates to the 2011 BMW X5. The reworked areas include the lower front fascia, the rear bumper with trapezoidal exhaust tips, and the underhood. With a set of revamped head and tail lights, added illumination will not be a problem. Superior air-intakes, similar to the X5 M model, have been positioned at the lower front fascia.

Besides these, BMW has taken an avant-garde decision by incorporating two new gas-engines, preparing the vehicle to be the most challenging in the SUV segment. Both the gasoline engines of the 2011 BMW X5 have been changed. Two boosted trims – xDrive35i and xDrive50i are just ready to obey your command. A single turbo powered with 300 hp N55 3.0 liter inline-six and a twin-turbo 400 hp 4.4 liter V8 will drive the xDrive35i and xDrive50i respectively adding comfort, luxury, safety, and excitement. An innovative eight-speed automatic has been paired with both the turbo engines making the the SUV a notch above the rest in terms of superiority. A third trim, xDrive35d, for the 2011 BMW X5 has been kept unchanged keeping the vehicle consistent with its entry scheme.

The xDrive50i impresses with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. The xDrive35i on the other hand maximizes performance while notably reducing CO2 emissions, going from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
