Rumor: Kia Borrego May Return to U.S. as 2010 Model
Does anybody of you remember the Kia Borrego from 2008? Well, the 337 hp SUV failed to impress the Americans when it was revealed at the North American International Auto Show as a production model for the previously released concept car Kia Mesa. Seeing the disappointing sales of the Borrego, the automaker decided not to bring a 2010 model of the SUV. But according to the recent report or address them as rumors, the Kia Borrego is returning again and will be crowned as a 2010 model.
The Fueleconomy.gov has hinted a possibility of a 2010 Kia Borrego. There has not been any official announcement from the company so far but a Kia spokesman tells that the model is still in the planning stages. If the reports turns out to be true, the Kia Borrego is most likely to retain the similar powertrain as that of its predecessor that includes a 276 hp 3.8 L Lambda II V6 or 337 hp 4.6 L Tau V8 mated to either a 5-speed or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Hope to hear more on the matter from Kia soon.
