Saab Withdraws From Frankfurt Auto Show; Focuses on Finances
Saab has announced that it is pulling out of the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show that is scheduled to take place next month. Just last week Saab was pressured by its European suppliers to declare bankruptcy. And the pull-out off Frankfurt seems to be related to its financial tightening.
As one Saab spokesperson conveyed to Automotive News Europe, the carmaker is now focusing on restarting production at its factory in Trollhatten, Sweden. Saab was previously forced to halt production at the plant in March as a result of cash shortages, and the company is now vigorously trying to raise funds to restart production at the plant.
Saab’s blog went on to say that participating in the Frankfurt Auto Show is “not considered an appropriate use of resources at this time“
